Africa

Africa is the world's second-largest and second most-populous continent, after Asia. It covers 6% of the Earth's total surface area, and 20.4% of the total land area. With about 900 million people in 61 territories, it accounts for about 14% of the world's human population.  It is widely regarded within the scientific community to be the origin of humans, as allegedly evidenced by the discovery of the earliest known human fossils.

Africa boasts perhaps the world's largest combination of density and "range of freedom" of wild animal populations and diversity, with wild populations of large carnivores, such as lions, hyenas, and cheetahs, herbivores, such as buffalo, deer, elephants, camels, and giraffes ranging freely. It is also home to a variety of jungle creatures, snakes, primates and aquatic life, including crocodiles and amphibians. (wikipedia)

China and Japan

Many ethnic groups have existed in China. In terms of numbers, however, the pre-eminent ethnic group is the Han Chinese. Throughout history, many groups have been assimilated into neighboring ethnicities or disappeared without a trace. At the same time, many within the Han identity have maintained distinct linguistic and regional cultural traditions. Much of the traditional cultural identity within the community has to do with distinguishing the family name.

The Japanese have developed a sophisticated and refined cuisine highly sensitive to the change of seasons. They enjoy a variety of traditional food, including rice and miso soup, as well as many seafood dishes (sushi and sashimi for instance), and foreign dishes. Japanese food is popular in the U.S. and Europe. It has the reputation of being low in calories and otherwise healthy, which is potentially related to the longevity of Japanese people.

The demographics of Australia show it to be one of the most urbanised populations in the world; the majority of Australians live on the coast. Australia's cities are melting pots of different cultures. The influence of the longer-established southern European communities in particular has been pervasive.
